Just wanted to write and say hello to all of you fellow Doxie owners.
My wife and I are the "owners" of two dachshunds - a tweenie, Sarah, and a mini, Oliver. Sarah is a rescue dog - we are not sure how old she is but we guess about 7, and Oliver, who is 3. They are both black and tan silver dapples.
My name is number2, and my wife, who is not on the board here, is number1. We call each other that because the mini has a strict German style personality - he seems to think he is the boss. My wife seems to have the most favor with him, and I the second, hence our nicknames.
Last winter, a couple weeks before Christmas, Oliver became paralyzed because of back issues. After months of crate rest and medication, he was able to walk again. I'll follow up and share the story as hope for anyone who has had to go through that ordeal, and based on what I've read, is quite common.
Anyway, just wanted to say hello!
