    Thinning of Hair around ears..?

    My Josie also has thinning hair on her ears. I asked my vet about this at her check up and he says that this is normal for puppies from this breed. He said her hair will start to fill in as she gets older. So, it's normal! Don't worry!

    So glad I found DachshundTalk! I am both a new member and a first time dog owner. I have a beautiful nine week old miniature dachshund that I have named Josie. Here is a picture of her (and don't worry, those Christmas lights are battery operated so they can't hurt her!):
