Hello everyone, my name is Ted I am 71, retired from General Electric. I spent 32 years as a photographer in Louisville,KY. We have a 12 year Doxie and just last week he lost the use of his back legs.

Oh my! I am so sorry.

We get so attached to our dogs, it really hurts when they get hurt.

Prayers for you and your dachshund.

Ted,
So sorry to hear about you doxie. Do they know why he lost the use of his back legs? We had a doxie that went paralized from the chest down (ruptured 2 discs in his back). We chose to do surgery, and after 3 months he was able to walk again. I believe he was 8 years old when this happened.

Hi, Ted~

I'm a Motorola retiree and we did business with GE frequently. They owned a ceramic substrate plant in Tennessee that I visited often.

So sorry to hear about your doxie..I had a shih tzu years ago who had a similar problem. Is it spine related?

Yes, they are our babies who never grow up, and we hurt for them.

Welcome to the forum. You will find alot of support here.:)

Welcome Ted,

I am so sorry to hear about your furkid. Does the vet know why he has lost use of his back legs? Did they do X-Rays? Have you looked into getting his a wheelchair?

My thoughts are with you and your baby, please keep us updated on how he is doing.
