Hello,
My name is Shannon and I have a miniture short hair dachshund girl named Magpie but we call her Maggie. She is 4 years old and as a new owner I let her get overweight. She is on the road to weight loss " 2 lbs already" through exercise. I am walking her consistantly and now want to up the activity to hiking. She is small and finding a harness for her has been a challenge of mamoth proportion.
So now I have a proper harness for walking but the hiking in the woods requires something leather for ease of cleaning. I know that generally collars are not the recommended device of choice for dachshunds but Maggie has almost no hair on her chest and belly and we have run into the complication of a rash that turned into an infection. Her Vet has reccomended if she is not a puller (and she isnt) that we use a collar.
So the question I have is ,has anyone used a lurcher collar on their dachshund and if so did it work well?
