Fur loss

Hi everyone
I have a standard grey / blue dachshund female 5 years old. Her fur seems to thin half way down her body. It doesn’t bother her but it is dryer the then the rest of her body. I was told it is a trait of the colour as the breeder had mum tested and was told the same thing. We give her salmon oil daily which does help . But does anyone else know of anything else that might help. Many thanks pam123.

Hair loss could be a sign of Cushing’s. dachshunds are one of the breeds that do get affected by it quite a few of them actually.My pup has it and it started with his hair thinning out and him just looking weird in regards to his coat and then eventually he started to get a bit of a potbelly and that’s when I took him in and he was diagnosed with it, but it could also be a number of other things. Allergies?

By grey/blue I'm thinking you mean an Isabella dachshund. I've known several who have had skin issues and were told it happens often in that color. I'm not sure what would help the condition
