FEEDING

Hi all,

New to this Forum and from what i have read so far very very helpful space to be in.

My Dach is just a little over 5 months old, i am just unsure wether he is being fed enough or to much or what..

Could use some help on this please.

Welcome to the forum. I've had many dachshunds over the years. The way that I tell how they are doing weightwise is to stand and look down at them. If they have a waist showing (a slight hourglass look), we're good. If they don't, I cut back their food a bit. If they look sucked in, I feed them a bit more. Its hard to tell someone how much to feed. It depends on the type of food, age of dog, how active they are. I have an old (about 15) dog who mostly sleeps, who eats a lot more than my 3 year old 30 lbs mix who spends her day running around chasing whatever moves.
