Hi all, I'm thinking of buying a male, smooth haired, mini dachshund puppy from a breeder. The puppy seems very healthy and energetic. It has good fur, lovely markings and is perfect. Except for the fact it has a very kinky tail. I've attached a pic here so you can see. Has anyone heard of a kinky tail effecting the dog in later life? I'm going to ask for a vets report and take it to the vet myself too but any opinions welcome!

That looks like a break in the tail from birth. I have never heard of it affecting the animal. I have never seen that in a doxie but my lab I had, had a kinky tail and it was a break from birth. 
Always double check! But I think you are in the clear.
The only other thing I could think of is the dog isn't pure doxie but that's not the case here! Good Luck!
