Hi! I have been owed by two dachshunds of my own (Waggles & Big Red) with us losing Big Red just last week to kidney failure at age 13. He was a rescue and the age was a guess at best.

Red was the absolute best dog we have ever had. He was loving towards everyone, laid back, very easy going, loving cuddle bug and a bit ornery around the edges. We are missing him terribly and are taking things day-by-day.

We picked up his ashes last night and had a very nice note from the vet who took care of him at the ER - stating what a loving and affectionate dog he was. I guess he was a charmer until the end. :)

Waggles (Sir Waggs A Lot) was our first dachshund and was a live wire. He was 16 when he went to the Bridge in 2003 - very distinguished with his white face & paws.

I know in time we will have room for another in our hearts...it's just getting there. Maybe next summer.

I know how you feel right now. We lost this beautiful girl back on 6/3/13. She was 17 years 3weeks old. I miss her everyday.
