i am new here and live in tennessee. i do not own a dachshund yet, i have been looking at breeders and think i have found one, they have a litter due in early june, i asked to be put on the waiting list. anyways i figured i would come on here and get some information, before i choose one, i had one growing up, but wasnt really too involved with her except to pet her and play with her. now that i am in the right spot i want one or two of my own, though to begin with i will get one. i am hoping to get a long haired miniture dachshund.

That seems like a long wait for a puppy. lol Not that it is but when there's a new pup coming home, every week feels like a month.
Have you considered adopting an adult? We have adopted adults from a show breeder that were ready to retire, and that's been working our real well for us. I know that dachshund rescues are full to the brim too. Just something to keep in mind. I can't wait to see the new sweetie when they finally make it to your home.
