Help me understand why I lost my Dachshund.

Thank you for your support. Unfortunately he is not responding to the meds. The vet said our only options are surgery (which we cannot afford), a wheelchair, or put him down. I don't like any of those options and am going to get a 2nd opinion. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Help me understand why I lost my Dachshund.

I am so sorry for your loss but you really cant blame yourself (even though its hard to do). Your post really hit home for me (much like many other doxie owners) bc tonight I just took my little guy to the vet for an emergency visit. Sweating doxie?

Never thought about those things!! Thanks for the suggestions! All my pups eat the same food (nutro) and the others appear to be fine.. Then again they are not short haired dogs so it would be hard to determine if they were "sweating" too. Maybe I should get him checked out for hypothyroidism...

    Sweating doxie?

I know dogs sweat through their paws and tongues but my short haired mini appears to sweat in his pawpit (armpit) areas and his belly. Is that normal? Does anyone else's doxie "sweat" too?

    Glyco Flex III chewables

Has anyone tried these? My vet just sent me home with a bag of these for my Schipperke because she is going through physical therapy for her cruciate ligament surgery and he said the chews are good for joint health... forgot to ask if the chews could be taken by the weenies...

    Back Issues

Thanks for your post kirp! My doxies aren't injured but I was thinking it might be good as a preventative stand point. But like your doxie.. I'm sure mine wouldn't be comfortable or like it much. Hope your little guy is ok (if he was injured)!
