    I haven't been on the forum since just after I sent my baby over the bridge... I've been missing my boy....I keep looking for him, even though I know he's not here. Instinct I guess... Been thinking about a new puppy or a rescue...just not sure yet.

    Thank you for all of your kind words... Blazer was sent over the bridge to meet up with his brothers, Buddy and Jager. One of the hardest things I've ever done. I could barely breathe, my chest was tight, my knees were weak... my heart broken... He is missed more than I could have...

    How much do you feed your mature dachshund?

    My guy is almost 18 years old....he has "open" food... so he can eat as much as he wants. But I should mention he is only 5lbs 6oz....and we struggle to keep the weight on. We feed Pedigree...although, I don't think it's the best choice.

    Ted, So sorry to hear about you doxie. Do they know why he lost the use of his back legs? We had a doxie that went paralized from the chest down (ruptured 2 discs in his back). We chose to do surgery, and after 3 months he was able to walk again. I believe he was 8 years old when this happened.
