    Reputable breeder????

I am not familiar with this breeder. One that I know of in that area is http://www.prettyinpinkdoxies.com/index.html I know people that have 2 of her dogs and are very pleased. She also lists her vet that you can call and uses a pet nanny for shipping. A good breeder will always take any dog...

    Seperation anxiety

There are CD's for dogs that play calming music. One of my boys gets anxious during fireworks and ADP collar seems to help him.

Considered about a imported Dachshund, please give me your thought?

Personally I'd stay away and not purchase a dog advertised over the internet. A big issue with me would be seeing both parents and not from photos. It may be that the seller sounds legit but could just be after a sale. Also, how would puppy arrive? I don't like the idea of a small puppy being...

Which dog bed for your Dachshund?

My dogs have their own beds but sleep with us. They seem more content. Some owners don't like that but it does not bother me at all. They do love snuggle sacks.

    Dog food

There is nothing wrong with Healthy Pet. My dogs did not do well on raw. I tried it and one got very sick and over $400 in vet bills.I felt terrible. It was fresh chicken wings. I home cook and I use vegetables, carrots, sweet potatoes, kale etc. They also get acana dry for seniors. I have had...

    Dachshund Seizures? Someone help me...

You are so right when you say stay away from google. A condition like this needs a vet ASAP. Nothing to mess around with. There is care credit to apply for also. My mom had a rehomed chi that developed seizures and he was on phenobarb. Helped him to live to almost 15.

    Question about Isabella pups

Is the puppy you are interested in the last photo? They look blue to me also. Are you buying from a person that advertised over the internet? Can you ask breeder if you can speak to any previous buyers? If you are really concerned I'd stay away and keep looking. I knew of a lady that had a blue...

    Question about Isabella pups

I love the creams myself also the chocolate & tan. I may be wrong but it usually is the dilutes, like the blue and tan dilutes and the Isabella and tan doxies that are prone to CDA. I don't think a true English Cream would carry it. Can you look at the parents and see what their coats look like...

    Calcified dachshund back

There is nothing wrong with giving pain meds as long as your vet agrees. Also, as long as your dog still has a good quality of life I see no need to have them PTS. Too many people will put a doxie down because of back issues. I have seen these little dogs do great with surgery and also with...

    Calcified dachshund back

I also have a 13 year old with calcified discs. He has a little bunny hop walk with his rear legs but when he sees a squirrel, he can run like he turned on his after burners. I keep him on a good fish oil and lots of rest. He does not limp but I do have pain meds for him as needed. He will go...
