So we adopted our first dachshund mix about 2 months ago. Generally he is pretty well behaved but he has some issues. he is 2 years old (so we are told) and seems fairly set in his ways. He learn quick though but is super stubborn. Lately we have noticed some biting and aggression when we take away a toy or move him off the couch when he doesn't want to be moved. Any advice on how to get rid of this behavior before it gets out of control??

I got my rescue at two. He was a bit hard on us at first, with his teath. We use Kikopups methods and it helped us.

Think of him as a puppy even if he is two. It worked for us.

Give him something else to chew on. Dachshund are chewes. When we always had bones around he was less intrested in biting our hands.

Give him time. And if he is guarding his toys maybe he had to do that before or never had the chans of having toys so he is really holding on to them. Never take something away without giving him something else to do. If you remove his toy - give him treats! If he always win on you taking things he will not see you as a treath.

Good luck!
